A comprehensive Will is generally the foundation of a good Estate Plan. We usually add Lasting Powers of Attorney so that the family is never left in a difficult position. Trusts can be added to the Will, or set up during lifetime, to control and protect assets such as savings and the family home. Regular review meetings ensure that the Estate Plan is kept on track and allows for changes in legislation and personal circumstances. IHT can be minimised; not aggressively but by using techniques which are accepted by HMRC. Furthermore, when the time comes, clients often ask us to be involved at the probate and Estate Administration stage to ensure that the Estate Plan is fully effective and the maximum passes to chosen beneficiaries
